I know I need prompts.

For this journal, mainly, because I have no idea what to write about anymore, and I'd like to steer away from the frustrating fucking bullshit that's going on at work.  I'd like to write about something a little bit more positive and engaging.  Because whining about something I can't fix is just whining, when everything's said and done.  Sure, it makes me feel better to get it off my chest, but I'd rather do something that's way more fun.

So, prompts.

Prompt me anything.  Questions about Stuff, fanfic story prompts (non-LM, please, since that wound is still too raw), original fic prompts, anything, really.  Maybe it'll shake something loose in my head.




(Closed the prompts because I'm getting too many gorgeous fic ideas, and they're so lovely my mind wants to turn them into long!fic that I don't have the time for right now, unfortunately.)

D: Hopefully everything life-wise (and work-wise) starts going better (starting with that asshole getting fired).

As for prompts, what about just a soulmate-identifying marks trope for Merthur? Those can always be pretty fluffy. Or it can be angsty if it includes multiple reincarnations of Arthur as Merlin lives out is tragically immortal life (until he pulls an Arwen and figures out how to die). Could also be comedic in a Supernatural 'every day is Tuesday' kind of way. Def a trope with potential for heavy amounts of all three.

Need somethimg a little smuttier? Merlin works in a BDSM club as a house sub and is notoriously hard to Dom cuz he's a bratty little shit and then Arthur comes in and it's a beautiful fight getting together, but they work.

If you need to stay away from Merlin (which would be sad because you're literally the best at it), your Teen Wolf work was, however, equally amazing so: future/space Sterek AU where there's (spaceship) pilots, and then there's emissaries - technopaths who pilot by becoming the ship.

Can I ask/prompt about your Prison Teen Wolf fic? Would it be something you would go back to and expand? And are you still watching Teen Wolf without Derek - i've lost the love myself.

Also your other Merlin/Arthur fic set in the medival times with Merlin pledging his loyatly as a Dragonlord to Arthur - would this be continuing? I just love it and keep going back to when I'm feeling cold or ill.

Also I'm having a career change from high school librarian to something (maybe coding, maybe events management, maybe primary teaching)- any ideas?? (just canvassing people's opinions)

No but in all seriousness, I'm not familiar with your original stuff (and I don't know if they're available anywhere?) but if that would work, take two characters in completely different positions, switch them, and see what they do. Or write down a scene that you'd really want to see but your canon doesn't allow it (...which is basically fic of your fic now that I think about it). OR! This post (http://alwaysbellamyblake.tumblr.com/post/111909165950/send-me-a-pairing-and-a-number-and-ill-write-you) caught my eye last night, it's around 50 one-sentence prompts that actually had me building stuff the moment I read them.

I also had something like a writing meme (http://vlaffles.livejournal.com/9743.html) last week, I would love to see your answers if you wanna talk about writing as well.

Western Merthur and/or Perwaine. Your previous western as quite awesome, but there are a lack of good westerns out there...as well as a lack of Perwaine, lol.

Writer!Arthur? Soul-marks? WWI Merthur where Arthur is reincarnated and Merlin serves as his man (that may be too close to LM, sorry)? Sense8 Merlin-style? Manor House a la Downton Abby?

Had to hop in to second the Sense8/Merlin fusion prompt.

I'm also a total sucker for canon era fic so if you ever wanted to write a 513 AU where Arthur is saved at the last minute and then everything gets messy and complicated in a different way because legalizing magic ain't as easy as all that and Merlin is regarded with as much suspicion as gratitude once his magic is outed and Arthur is still married but is experiencing all these new ~feelings for Merlin he can't explain, I'd be all over that. You're so great at worldbuilding that it'd be awesome to get to read an extension of canon that allowed for a little more depth and scope.

That said I've spent a lot of time reading stories about competent/stubborn-to-a-fault heroines, so I'm curious what you'd do with one of those. Perhaps a geologist, minerals/rocky things being magical (so many sachels!), consulting to make ends meet...?
