Longstanding Tradition
Feb. 9th, 2016 08:11 pmIn the longstanding tradition of the Jinx, I have jinxed myself. I said I was bored, and boy, did that go away quickly. I'd been hoping I'd have a couple of slow weeks to chill out and catch up on the tiny little things that I never get a chance to do.
But, yeah. No.
Things went sideways at around midmorning yesterday, pulled a sharp U-ey around the tree I was bound to hit someday, and did an unexpected detour at Albuquerque before sliding down a very slippery hill into the dung pile of Many Things Going Wrong. The funny part? Which isn't really that funny, to be honest -- it's that all of the Things that very much don't need Going Wrong are all due this Friday. And, of course, because it wouldn't be complete without more roadblocks, I'm up to my elbows in meetings I can't wriggle out of. In order to meet those deadlines, I'm going to have to pull a couple of all-nighters.
Ugh. I'm not a kid anymore. I'm gonna feel it when the weekend hits.
In other news, I did manage words for the test-drive attempt for a possible ACBB, though not many, and I was distracted from an original fic I'm starting by doing research (18 tabs worth) for a tiny detail that won't even make an appearance.
Jesus. All this, and it's not even hump day yet.
